Dance School of the Year 2021

Lucy Lovick LISTD – Director

Hi there, my name is Lucy Lovick and I am the Founder and Director of the Lucy Lovick Dance School.

Established in 2008 I look forward to welcoming you to the LLDS Family and finding the ‘perfect fit’ dance class for your child.

So, a little bit about me, I started dancing at the age of 3 in Beckenham (yes, I’m a local girl who attended classes in the very halls I now teach in) from this young age dance was my world. I trained at the prestigious Laine Theatre Arts where I graduated with the College Diploma and my teaching qualifications in ISTD Classical Ballet, Modern Theatre and Tap dance.

After college I went on to have a successful professional performing career working in Spain and Italy in television and theatre as a dancer, singer, actress and choreographer. I’ve had the greatest of pleasure to work with many of the top TV directors, choreographers and producers and have performed with many stars such as Kylie, Take That and Julio Iglesias to name but a few.

My professional highlights are:

Presenter and lead dancer on the famous TV show ‘Un, Dos, Tres’ on TVE-1 in Madrid

I was a member of the Spanish girl pop group ‘Ahora’, recording an album with a top 20 hit and tour of Spain.

Choreographer and head girl in the musical ‘El Diluvio que Viene’ at the Calderon Theatre, Madrid as well as many other contracts with L’Oreal, Gillete, Reebok, Motorola and Danone.

After 12 years of living abroad and following my dream of a professional dancer, I came back to England, met my wonderful Husband and we have two wonderful children. Moving into teaching had also been my long-term goal and I taught locally at many schools before starting my own dream school. I now feel extremely privileged to be giving the joy of dance to the local children, teaching them the benefits of dance and all it offers. Along with my amazing team of staff we provide expert tuition in DANCE at LLDS.

What we offer?

Over the past year many things have changed and as a school we have adapted, pivoted and developed a whole new program of dance classes called the LLDS DANCE STAR PROGRAM. We spent the summer term 2020 providing online classes and we structured a full timetable of diverse classes to keep our pupils, motivated, engaged and with some sense of normality in our new world. It gave us the opportunity to work on our new Dance Star program which was launched in September 2020. We are the place to go for the TOTAL DANCE EXPERIENCE. We don’t just offer you a one subject dance class, but the total package. At LLDS all pupils start their journey in our specialised multi genre dance teaching program starting with combination classes in Ballet, Modern and Acro, developing into Contemporary, Lyrical and Ballet Repertoire, Jazz and Tap all combined in longer dance classes. Dance is multi-faceted and we believe in offering you the total dance package.

Our mission

DEVELOP We ensure all pupils at LLDS have the support and direction needed to grow and develop as they work towards their goals. Developing friendships, working as a team, growing in confidence and building long lasting memories.
