Our Dance Programs

Our  Star Foundation program offers children from Pre- School to Year 2 a total DANCE EXPERIENCE.

Mini Musical Stars – Pre-school is a super combination of ISTD Ballet and Modern with a focus on musicality and imagination. With our experienced  pianist Mrs Maskell, our children will discover music, sing along with songs and explore dance with rhythm and rhyme.

Super Stars – Reception Age is a total dance combination class of ISTD Ballet, Modern, Acro and Tap. Learn all the fundamentals of dance and rhythm in this fun and lively class.

Galaxy Stars – Year 1 and 2   here we continue the work already learnt in Super Stars and develop our skills. Pupils are encouraged to work towards their first ISTD examinations or take an assessment to move top to our middle school.

Pupils progress to the Middle school after completing the foundation levels.

Approximately at age 7 they are ready to continue their dance classes with our Dynamic and Classic pathways. Pupils follow through the grades by taking ISTD exams or in-house assessments depending on each child. Pupils are encouraged to take both Dynamic and Classic pathways, but they can choose just one if preferred.

Dynamic Stars (Grades 1-4) is the combination package for those children who wish to become an all-rounded dancer. Pupils study ISTD Modern and Tap – as well as a bit of funky jazz! – aiming to improve technique and artistry, build strength and discover the joy and enthusiasm of theatre performance.

Classical Stars (Grades 1-4) is a beautiful class that combines ISTD Classical Ballet, Ballet repertoire and lyrical/contemporary. It is for pupils who want to improve their classical technique and artistry, whilst exploring the freedom of movement and expression of lyrical contemporary dance. The history of Ballet and costume also forms a big part of these classes with regular tutu days.

Whether you come to dancing for enjoyment or because you wish to pursue a career in dance these courses will provide for all your needs.

After completing Dynamic and/ or Classic pupils progress to Grade  5 and 6 leading to the ISTD Vocational levels, working towards the Intermediate Foundation and Intermediate examinations.

Senior students have the use of our designated “Dance Lounge” a lovely area to do homework, sit and relax, stretch. With sofas and lockers we really give our senior students a super environment to come to, after their school day.

To compliment our dance classes we offer extra specialist workshops and company classes. These are for the dedicated pupil who simply loves to dance and perform and develop further their skills. Entrance is by invitation or audition only.

Acro Dance classes will have the use of both studios opened up to create a huge space to learn the beautiful and creative art of Acro Dance. With our own tumble track and Acropad these classes are not to be missed. Acro includes elements of acrobatics, gymnastics, partner work and dance.   Our Acro classes are super fun and great for building confidence and trust when working together.  Pupils learn and improve tumbling, flexibility, strength, balance and partner/group work.  Classes begin at 3 years old, with our specialist Pre-school Acrobatic Arts program which is designed to introduce physical literacy, coordination, creative movement and basic acrobatic skills to students aged three to five years.  Classes One, Two and Three are for pupils age 6 and over. 

Class One and Two – 60 Mins

Class Three – 90 mins ( Invite only- pupils in this class must study ballet)

Street and commercial dance is essential for building coordination and performance skills! It improves our pupils’ confidence, musicality, and their ability to pick up new styles and routines whilst also allowing their personality to really shine. It’s the style that is most often seen at pop concerts and in music videos, and is a lot of fun learning to express yourself in class and on stage in our big shows!

Street/commercial is danced to current and recent chart music and covers a wide range of musical styles. We always make sure that our routines and music choices are age-appropriate and suitable for the level.

Our street/commercial classes can be taken as a stand-alone class or alongside our CORE Galaxy or Classic/Dynamic pathways. We have three levels:

Junior Street – 45 mins (age 5-7) 

Inter Street – 45 mins (age 8-11)

Advanced Street – 1 hour (age 12+)

Our adult classes are a fun and energetic way of keeping fit.

They are designed to offer an exciting, social lesson, whilst providing a solid level of dance training. Come along, and learn to tap or try a class of classical ballet. We welcome all ages and abilities! The emphasis is on enjoyment, whilst improving fitness, stamina, coordination, musicality and general dance technique.
