When you reach the top of the school . . .

After completing the Dynamic and/or Classic programs pupils will be now called our “Senior Students”. At this level students have reached the top of the school. They are treated as young adults and classes are structured to their needs and requirements.

We offer a recreational dancer program for those who simply love to dance, and we have the option to train to an elite level and take exams to prepare for college auditions and a future career in dance.

Our Thursday program is our vocational evening for students at ISTD Grade 6, Intermediate and Advanced One Our Friday program is our pre-vocational evening for students at ISTD Grade 4 and 5

Pupils are placed in the most suitable program for their level by the Studio Director.

Each evening will include:

  • ISTD Imperial Classical Ballet class
  • Pointework class
  • ISTD Modern class
  • ISTD Tap class

Uniform for these classes in dependant on level. To join these classes new dancers must attend a 3-week trial to ascertain the correct grade. Please get in touch to register interest for these classes.

Learning opportunities for senior students at LLDS

Our senior students are also given the option to train to be student helpers in the younger classes. We operate a training program to help gain skills working with our teachers whilst assisting classes. Senior helpers learn about class management and teaching strategies to become a fundamental part of the younger programs. Being a student helper is a highly regarded position and brings many opportunities to develop confidence, an ability to work in a team, have good communication skills and become a respected member of the school community.

I started dancing at LLDS as a little three year old and have done so much with the school, dancing in the West End at so many different theatres and my last adventure was dancing on the cruise ship around the Mediterranean. It’s been a fantastic journey and I will really miss everyone at my dancing home, xx

Alicia

Lucy Lovick Dance School has been my home for the past 15 years of my life. From all the amazing teachers who believed in me to the friends who turned into family, every class, rehearsal, and performance has given me memories and lessons I’ll never forget. This school has shaped me into the dancer and person that I am today, guiding me through many ISTD exams, classes and performance opportunities. The surport and love I have had while at the school is something I wouldn’t trade for the world and I will carry it with me onto my next chapter at university.

Pia

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Lucy Lovick Dance School, the community and atmosphere that the school creates is truly something special. I would like to thank all of the teachers at LLDS, they truly made all the difference, and helped me to settle quickly and feel welcomed from the moment I joined. I feel that the teachers and the community at LLDS, allow every individual to truly grow and reach their full potential. I felt my confidence grow over the weeks in lessons, and will carry this with me in the future. Next academic year, I will be going to study Architecture at the University of Cambridge, and hope to continue dancing there alongside my studies.

Leonie

I’ve been at LLDS for 12 years and couldn’t possibly imagine a world without it. It’s been my home, my family and my favourite place to be. I’ve made the best memories here as well as experiencing some of the most amazing opportunities like dancing in Disneyland and on a cruise. I started as a tiny uncoordinated 6 year old who knew no one, now I’m graduating with lifelong friends and such a passion for dance that I am now going on to study dance as a degree, I am forever grateful for the life LLDS has given me and will miss it more than anything.

Hope

My name is Zoe and I’ve been dancing at Lucy Lovick dance school for 8 years. It’s been an amazing place for me to grow as a dancer and build my confidence in and out the school. Now graduating, I can look back at fond memories of the friends I made and the hard work we put into each class. Will miss everyone a lot xx

Zoe

Hi my name is K-Cyan and LLDS has been my home for the past 15 years. I started as this tiny 3 year old terrified of my first class to someone graduating from the most wonderful experience and opportunities you guys have given me. Although I have now graduated, I will always refer to it as my second home. It is where had some of my best memories whether that be simply being with my friends to the fantastic moments where I would achieve something that I have been working on or trying to improve over time. LLDS has been my greatest blessing and I am so sad to be leaving. Will miss you guys endlessly x”
